German (Blue) Chamomile

German Chamomile, also known as blue chamomile is the most healing of the chamomile essential oils. The oils blue color comes from the chemical component chamazulene, a product of matricine, which gives German Chamomile its powerful anti-inflammatory benefits.

Like Roman Chamomile, German Chamomile has anti-depressant properties and eases tension, anxiety, and induces sleep. The oil also has powerful anti-microbial and anti-biotic properties to be used for wound healing.

Indications:

German Chamomile is especially beneficial for those with nervous and tension issues. The oil is known to reduce symptoms of anxiety, stress, depression, ADHD, and insomnia. German Chamomile can be diffused to increase concentration or may be used in a body oil to enhance its benefits.

German Chamomile also helps with digestive disorders and stomach ulcers. The oil is also beneficial to the skin around inflamed areas to reduce inflammation. German Chamomile may also be used on the skin to prevent and treat bacterial diseases in the mouth and gums caused by chemotherapy or radiation.

German Chamomile calms the mind and purifies the spirit. It can be used during meditation or a calming ceremony. German Chamomile reduces tenseness and agitation, allowing one to rejoin with their spiritual connection.

Usage:

Neat: Place a drop or two directly onto clean and intact skin. A couple drops on the wrists, shoulders, temples or neck imparts a beautiful aroma and is an effective remedy for stress and nervous depression. To use as deodorant, place a drop or two on each armpit. Note: May be too concentrated to be used undiluted on facial skin.

Blended with Carrier: Use 15 drops per 1 TBL of carrier oil such as grapeseed, rosehip, jojoba or hazelnut oils, and massage over any area where you would like for healing to occur. This dilution is ideal for facial skin. For more sensitive and mature skin, start out with using a 5 drops per 1 TBL dilution.

Bath: Place 8 drops into 3 handfuls of bath salt and disperse, or add 8 drops to vodka or whole milk

Diffusor: Follow diffusor manufacturers instructions, but typically add about 8 drops.

Room Deodorizer: Add 15 drops per 2oz distilled water and spray as desired.
