Drift Into a Peaceful Slumber with Sweet Dreams Essential Oil Blend

Let’s talk about five different ways to use Sweet Dreams Essential Oil Blend as part of your nightly bedtime ritual.

Dreamy Diffusion

This method is quite simple, and if you are already oily enthusiast, it may seem like a no brainer, but this is just a gentle reminder about the power of diffusing essential oils to induce a relaxed state.

To get the maximum benefit, pair diffusion with at least 15 minutes of meditative mindfulness before bed. (Or longer if needed.) Put the phone away, we don’t need screens here and turn off the lights.

-Sit or lay in your bed in a comfortable position, eyes closed.

-Focus on taking deep, healthy breaths, in through the nose and out through the mouth.

-Listen to the sound that your breath makes.

-Feel your chest rising and falling as you breathe. When thoughts begin to rise, continue to come back to the breath.

Each of these actions, paired with our gentle but powerful Sweet Dreams Essential Oil Blend, will signal to your brain that now is the time for rest. 

Bedtime Bath

This is one of my personal favorites and is guaranteed to put me right to sleep. In fact, sometimes I even start to doze off in the bathtub!

Simply add a generous number of drops of Sweet Dreams Essential Oil Blend into a hot bath. Add two cups of Epsom salt for extra relaxation. Turn the lights on low, light a candle or try completely off— whatever makes you feel the most comfortable. Dive in and soak to your heart’s content. Enjoy soaking (for at least 20 minutes) as you enter a new level of relaxation.

Calming Face Steam

You don’t need to wait for an appointment at the spa to enjoy a sumptuous facial treatment. This is an activity you can enjoy with ease right in your own home at any point in time, but especially if you need to calm the nerves just before bed.

Bring a large pot of water to boil and remove from heat. Add several drops of Sweet Dreams Essential Oil Blend. Place your face over the pot and a towel over the head, encompassing the sides of the vessel. Take several deep breaths, taking a break when necessary. Repeat as desired.

As your pores completely open in the steam, consider massaging the face with a facial serum like our Super Custom Anti-Aging Blend or Clear Skin Formula.

After your steam, you can also use one of our hydrosols as an astringent such as our Rose or Yarrow Hydrosols to refresh the skin and lock in the moisture.

DIY Pillow Spray

Make your bed a more inviting place for both you and the sandman to visit with a DIY Sweet Dreams pillow spray. Don’t limit spraying this just on your pillow— spray it all over your sheets, jammies and even all over your body!

For this, you will need a 2oz or 4oz spray bottle. Fill the bottle half with water and half with Witch Hazel. Add 20 – 40 drops of Sweet Dreams Essential Oil Blend, using more or less according to the size of your bottle. 

Goodnight Massage

Bring your mind, body and spirit into a state of relaxation with a bedtime massage. If you have a partner, I suggest trading foot rubs, or if it’s just you, remember that serving the self can be just as rewarding.

Add 1-2 pumps of Organic Hemp Seed Oil into the palm of your hand, and then combine with 5 drops of Sweet Dreams Essential Oil Blend.

Apply this mixture to the skin as you massage the feet, the ankles, and even up into the legs or further if you desire. Personally, I focus on the feet. Because feet have large pores, the oils absorb quickly into the skin and our feet contain additional reflexology points that can benefit our entire body and it’s systems.
